Layers on Layers.

Any City girl knows it's all about layering. You go from extreme cold outside to stripping down the second you step inside anywhere. Every store and apartment is boiling hot so you need a tank top for indoors and several layers for the blistering cold outside. I wasn't ready to give up my adorable Rosegal bomber jacket so I decided to layer it up for a day out.

This is one of my everything but the kitchen sink outfits. More is more. My new philosophy is before you head out the door - add one more item. I'm totally over simplicity. There is a reason I'm LeHoarder.

My first layer starts with my $1,495 Elizabeth and James striped Holland fur that I scored at their sample sale a while back for just 99 bucks. I seriously wish I got more because subsequent sales were not as good.

I mentioned Macy's Backstage (their outlet stores) a little while back when I first shared these booties. Right now they have buy one get one free on all their clearance in-store thru 1/2 - totally worth treasure hunting! Both my hat and boots came from Macy's Backstage - thanks again for the giftcard!

From head to toe:
  • Hat: BeMine NYC, Macy's Backstage, $12.99 but used gift card they gifted me
  • Sunglasses: H&M, $1.50 (sale rack!)
  • Coat: Elizabeth and James Holland fur, sample sale, $99 (RV $1,495)
  • Jacket: Make Me Chic, gifted - now on sale for $29.90! FYI, I'm wearing a size medium.
  • Dress: H&M, $3 (was $49.95)
  • Watch & bangle: Daniel Wellington, gifted (Use code LEHOARDER to take 15% off purchases on their website).
  • Bag: Mezzanotte Barolo, gifted (RV $195)
  • Gloves: Surell, Century 21, $4.50 (RV $99) - back when 90% off was really 90% off...
  • Tights: Spanx, Burlington Coat Factory, $13 (RV $28)
  • Boots: Betsey Johnson, Macy's Backstage, $49.99 (RV $99) but used gift card they gifted me

I only wear Spanx shaping tights but as you know, I refuse to pay retail. Very few brands still make shaping tights. I've found that the lower end Spanx at Target just aren't as good. I used to find Spanx at Burlington Coat Factory but this year I couldn't find them on the cheap anywhere. Spanx does have an eBay outlet from but right now they were out of my size so I went to the actual Spanx website and they had some great deals in the sale section. PLUS they have a coupon code (N16SK9P) for 10% off and free shipping right now! I ordered this two pack that came out to $13.50 a pair each! Don't forget to use ebates for an extra 3% off! I find that if you get the right size they last for a long time. When you order too small the pull and are more likely to tear.

This amazing bomber is my base layer. They had me sold with the patches. I wore it several times prior to shooting and got so many compliments. My only issue is that it started to pill in some spots. But for less than $30 it packs a punch!

I didn't feel like shooting my favorite Moschino sunnies again so I pulled out these cat-like H&M sunglasses that I found for $1.50. Dress is also H&M ($3 from $50). I seriously love H&M clearance.

Couldn't do my signature red or pink lipstick with the bomber so I'm wearing my new Korres Morello lipstick in Mocha Brown. It comes as a duo with a lip liner but I'm just wearing the lipstick. You can see me wearing the red they sent me here - thanks Korres!

This Mezzanotte Barolo bag is just what I needed. I first shared it with you in a flatlay here. It's the perfect bag to take you from day to night and works as well with jeans as it does with eveningwear. It's so lightweight and better yet, fits my giant phone. Plus the combo of pale gold and gunmetal matches everything. It's available in several colors and on sale right now! I should mention that the buckle is supposed to be flipped up and somehow mine got pushed down for all my pics. Oops. Thank you Mezzanotte!

This round of pictures were taken by my super talented 9-year-old, Ella. Halfway through the shoot she stole my fur coat and hat because she was so cold. She's wearing her favorite Justice plaid shirt and tee again - as a Justice Girls With Heart brand ambassador she's been wearing a lot more Justice than usual. Be sure to follow her adventures on Instagram at @missellasophie. My goal for 2017 is to teach my youngest to shoot as well.

On the stuff showing up in my mailbox front, I received the December Popsugar Must Have Subscription Box. This month it as filled with odds and ends that were gift worthy - though you know I just kept them all for myself LOL. Code SHOP5 (which never expires) will get you $5 off your FIRST Must Have Box! Thank you Popsugar for sending me this box to try!

Influenster sent me their Loreal VoxBox Ever Pure VoxBox. Be sure to sign up for Influenster here to get your free boxes of stuff! People always ask me how to get the good campaigns - my tip would be to link up all your social accounts and share with friends. Plus they have "snaps" and reviews you can complete - these all help your standing.

The candy canes were not included. It was really hard to even find Kosher ones but my kids were begging for them.

I actually use (and swear by) Loreal Pro hair products that I get for free when I hair model.  I hoped these would be as good - but I still prefer my Pro line products. My scalp is super dry and itchy this time of year and Loreal Pro is the only thing that sooths it. What do you use if you have this issue?

Stella and Dot (and Octoly - sign up here) sent me this amazing feather statement necklace (RV $159)! I've been meaning to style it and shoot but I've been a little under the weather lately. Instead I've put together a little New Year's inspo starting with a pair of $250 Louboutins from Nordstrom Rack, My $20 thrifted vintage Oleg Cassini sequin dress (complete with giant 80s shoulder pads which are right on trend) and my Rebecca Minkoff Cleo WOC for a sparkly pop of color. This is the one night of the year that it's socially acceptable to sparkle like a disco ball. Not that I haven't glittered up on a regular Tuesday LOL.

If you haven't already done so, be sure to enter win your own, new with tags Rebecca Minkoff glitter wallet on a chain! You can enter my giveaway here. Just 4 days left!

Happy holidays! Chanukah is still in effect and other than some cash no gifts so far. My friend Morgan of Between the Racks got a Chanel pin for Christmas and I'm totally dying. Traditionally Chanukah is more about gelt (money) than presents thou. My mom always taught me to buy my own gifts - it's easier than being disappointed. And I'm a much better gift giver than most of the people around me so at least I know I'm gonna love it LOL. Actually I take that back, Ella got me a pair of hot pink boot shapers at the dollar store. Cute, useful and thrifty. My girl knows me well.

The good thing about this time of year is that everything is on sale and it's the perfect time to score some great deals at retail. Target hit 70% holiday clearance off today so I spent the morning Target hunting - check out my Insta stories to see what I found! $.89 EOS and $1.50 giant rolls of gift wrap - yes please! In case you missed it, I'm uploading some pics to my @shoppinggalscloset Instagram account. That's more of my personal account where I share more deals, and less polished cell phone shots.

This coming year I plan on being more consistent with my branding and dropping my nickname, Shoppinggal. Right now it's probably a little confusing that my Twitter, Pinterest and Facebook is Shoppinggal, while my Insta and blog are LeHoarder. I hope to transition to my name (Michelle Blashka) and LeHoarder across the board in 2017.

I hope to share my New Year's resolutions and a roundup of my best 2016 deals in my next post. But for now, what are your hopes for 2017?

Street Style and Sample Sale Scores.

I love fall because I get to pull out my coats. When I spotted this one on makemechic I knew I needed it! Bombers are all the rage right now but I wanted one with a twist. I'm wearing a size medium and it has a nice oversized fit. Love the longer shape of this one - plus it's a steal at just $36!

Unlike a lot of bloggers, I share outfits I actually wear, as I wear them. Lately I've been on a sneakers kick because it's just not practical to run around the City in heels anymore. That being said I wore this dress and coat to Synagogue over the holidays with my black Rockstuds and a sequin cap - my heels really only get broken out for special occasions these days.

This Tobi midi dress is a great layering piece. It's a little on the thin side very so comfortable and on sale for just $23 right now! I'm wearing a size medium. Tobi sent me a few pieces to try that I can't wait to share more :)

From head to toe:
  • Sunglasses: RayBan, Century21, $8, RV $145 - back when they had 90% off!
  • Bag: Rebecca Minkoff, Sample Sale, $10!!, RV about $200
  • Scarf: Ralph Lauren, my brother left this behind to be thrown out when he moved out of my parent's house so I snapped it up. I think it's cashmere :)
  • Jacket: Make Me Chic, RV $36, gifted (thanks guys!)
  • Dress: Tobi, RV $23, gifted (thanks guys!)
  • Bracelets: Rebecca Minkoff, sample sale, $10 each, RV $78 each
  • Gloves: Carolina Amato, sample sale, $15
  • Socks: Forever 21, $0.49 - I grabbed a few from the sale bin but I wish I grabbed more!
  • Sneakers: Puma, Burlington Coat Factory, $20, RV $75

Pictures are by the adorable Belle of @littlefashionstylist. Thanks girl!

There are tons of sample sales going on this week including the Manolo Blahnik sale on Tuesday but I think I'm gonna skip because I went crazy at Marc Jacobs and Rebecca Minkoff over the last couple weeks. Plus nothing looks like it's gonna be super cheap. I always document my behind the scenes at a sale in my Insta stories so make sure you're following along for my latest updates!

The Cutest Emoji Dress Ever!

It was love at first sight when I saw this Emoji dress on Shein.com. I can't tell you how many people have stopped me to ask where I got it. In full disclosure I got the size large because I wanted an oversized fit. The patches are sewn on a little sloppy but even so, the emojis totally make the dress. Even better, it's just $21.99 and they often have couple codes on their website for free shipping and an additional percentage off.

I wore this outfit to the Rebecca Minkoff sample sale last week. I like comfortable clothing (ergo the cute sneakers) and minimal accessories when I shop. The weather was pretty cold last week so I had to pull out a winter coat and gloves but I refuse to wear tights just yet.

From head to toe:
So this whole look was about $50 OOP. Pretty good considering the retail value is well over $1,700!

A huge thank you to my 9 year old mini fashionista Ella who took my pics for this look. So proud of my super talented kids! Check out her new Instagram account, @missellasophie. She's excited every time someone follows, likes or comments, so please show her some love!

I LOVE my new Jord wood watch! I love how organic they look - and they have so many color woods and faces. Jord sells both men's and women's watches (several are unisex) but I choose the Frankie in Navy and Zebrawood which retails for $189. I personally love a chunky menswear style watch on my tiny wrist.

Your watch comes in this amazing wood box and would make a great gift! Right now you can enter to win $75 off your watch - and you get a $20 code just for entering! Good luck!

Luxury Wood Watch

I got another really amazing box from Influenster - this Vox Box was choc full of Armani Beauty products! They sent me the Eccentrico mascara (RV $32) and three eye tints (RV $39 each)! I've said it before but I highly recommend signing up for Influenster! In short, they send you free products to review on your social media channels. It took me a while to get the good boxes, but when they are good they are oh so good! Sign up here.

Target just released their November beauty box for just $10! The Loreal primer and Revlon eyeliner alone more than pay for the box! Hurry because they always sell out fast!

Last but not least, Popsugar sent me their October #MustHaveBox to try and once again it did not disappoint! Their boxes are just $39.95 (with a $200+ RV!) and you can take $5 off your first box with coupon code SHOP5. I think I'm most excited by the MakeUp Eraser (removes makeup just by rubbing!) and can totally use a new Henri Bendel umbrella and Revlon Colorstay liquid eyeliner.

On the sample sale front, I did so well at Rebecca Minkoff (I went 2x LOL) and I'll be sure to share my finds shortly! This week in sample sales we have Marc Jacobs starting Wednesday and I may check out MIISTA - a London based shoe brand because I want some chunky booties or creepers.

Looks like it's gonna be a great week! Be sure to say hello if you see me around the City!

Summer of the Kaftan

My brother's engagement fanfare continued with a brunch at Mike's Bistro in NYC last weekend. The bride told me she was going to wear her new Sophia Websters so I pulled out a pair of mine...and then she showed up in Miu Miu. I haven't shot this H&M Studio Collection kaftan since Florida so I decided it was time again. It's so comfortable that I could wear it every day - and I pretty much do LOL.

From head to toe:
  • Sunglasses: Moschino, Century 21, $60 but free after rewards
  • Earrings: Danielle Scott, Nordstrom Rack, $13.50
  • Lipstick: MAC Toxic Tale, Nordstrom, free with rewards
  • CC Cushion: Vant Air Touch CC Cushion, free from 0.8L
  • Dress: H&M Studio Collection, $30 (Was $149!)
  • Bracelets: Dannijo, $25 and Eddie Borgo, $5 - both sample sale scores :)
  • Ring: Elizabeth and James, Nordstrom Rack, $0.01
  • Bag: Rebecca Minkoff, sample sale, $75
  • Shoes: Sophia Webster Lacey sandals, sample sale, $95 (RV $695)
  • Nail polish: Sally Hanson Miracle Gel in Electra-cute, Target, $2.24 (I can't say no when it's that cheap LOL)

You can shop my look here:

BTW, the bride-to-be is wearing a Mr. Self Portrait dress and Miu Miu heels, and my brother is wearing Louis Vuitton shoes. I may be 12 years older than her but I think I look pretty darn good for an old lady.

We thought it was funny that a bunch of people thought this was her wedding dress. Just wait till you see what she wears to the wedding next month. We're all so excited for this wedding. My girls were asked to be flower girls and they are over the moon with excitement.

Last but not least, as HUGE thank you to my 11 year old son and 16 year old nephew B for shooting me. If you can't have an Instagram husband (mine retired LOL), be sure to get some talented Insta kids!

Have a great weekend!

Tassels & Choos.

Pretty sure I already warned you it was the summer of the kaftan. Scored this adorable tasseled number on sale at H&M for $20. Online it's still full price at $34.99 so I suggest you head to your local store to see what else got marked down. FYI I'm wearing the XS/S and the neckline on mine is a little crooked - I had to camouflage it with my layered necklaces. Always inspect your H&M goods closely!

Yesterday was my brother's engagement/parent's anniversary/mother's birthday/father's day party. We have a big family so we like to combine as much as we can to justify everyone getting together. All my siblings (except my sis who lives out of the country) came in to celebrate. The party had a casual vibe but I always like to have a little fun with my clothing. I was afraid the party would be held outdoors so I needed a wedge (you know I wasn't gonna wear a flat) because there is nothing worse than wearing stilettos in a garden. The party was indoors in the end so I could have worn anything but as the shortest of 7 kids, I was happy for the extra several inches.

From head to toe:
  • Sunglasses: Moschino, Century 21, free (with $60 rewards)
  • Earrings: Alexis Bittar, Nordstrom Rack, $11 (retail $95)
  • Tassel necklace: H&M, $1 (super clearance!)
  • Stacked necklace: A.V. Max, sample sale, $15
  • Cuff: A.V. Max, sample sale, $5
  • Bag: Jimmy Choo Charlize python studded clutch, sample sale, $100
  • Dress: H&M kaftan, $20
  • Sandals: Jimmy Choo Peekabo sandal, $90 (retail $595)
  • Rings: all Lionette, sample sale, $25 each

Again, I'm wearing Toxic Tale by MAC. I just ordered another coral, Flocking Fabulous from Nordstrom because it was 30% off! Sadly it already sold out but they have a few other lipsticks left for 30% off here, here, here and here.

I still can't believe I forgot to remove my pony tail holder from my wrist. Ugh.

A huge thank you to my teenage nephew B who took my pictures yesterday!

You can shop my look here :)

My brother got special cakes for everyone but himself. I got a kick out of the Father's Day shirt and tie cake. The tie was plastic - I only know because my son tried to eat it LOL.

The great news for Ava is that "Mazel Tov" spells out her name too. It took almost 50 shots to get these pics because the wind did not want to cooperate.

One is easier than three.

My little cheeseballs wore vintage Gymboree that they pulled out of my stockpile. I used to buy cheap Gymbo at their Red Balloon Sale where everything was $5 or less. I finally got sick of seeing them in the same matching outfits so we took a break. Ella started digging around in the basement and we've been revisiting some of their favorite collections. Pardon all the chocolate shmeared all over them. There was a whole lotta cake at that party.

And the highlight of my day was when my very generous brother and his fiance surprised me a new $850 Prada Saffiano wristlet. Then he gave all his nieces and nephews crisp $100 bills. Thanks Shlo!

Hope you had a great weekend too! My kids are now off from school and we don't have any concrete summer plans. At the party I "adopted" my niece for the week so now I have 4 kids to myself. I hope to squeeze in a little shopping this week but we shall see...
