Fashion under $100 a day. Designer deals, Target & thrifted finds :)

To say $1 a day is unrealistic and even if I pieced together all my penny finds I don't think I could come up with a complete look (I'll try another time). Today I challenged myself to put on an outfit under $100 (it's been a while) so I decided to start with one of my $5 H&M clearance deals from the the other day.

  • Sunglasses: Jimmy Choo, Nordstrom Rack $10
  • Necklace: Nordstrom Rack, $6
  • Dress: H&M $5 (was $49.95)
  • Bracelet: AV Max NY, sample sale $10
  • Earrings: Nordstrom Rack, $.01
  • Bag: Rebecca Minkoff, sample sale $50
  • Sandals, Thrift store, $15

Pretty good, huh?

I've been doing a lot of thrifting recently but I keep walking out empty handed. Yesterday I went to three different thrift stores and all I got was a few cute pieces for my girls.

  • NWT Gap Kids skirt, $11.25
  • Ooh! La La! Couture dress $3.75
  • Magpie & Mabel skirt $4.50

Normally I wouldn't spend more than $5 on my kids but I already thrifted the same skirt for my younger daughter and I wanted them to match. Plus my older daughter kept stealing it...

I also had a decent Target week - I saw on my Target groups that electronics had some markdowns so I did a little Target hunting. My best deals included these Skullcandy earbuds for $2.98, Skullcandy Hesh 2 headphones (were $59.98!) for $17.98, Up by Jawbone fitness tracker (was $129.99!) for $38.98 and a couple Lexar SDHC cards for just $2.98 each. I've wanted a fitness tracker for a while but I've never heard of this company before. Anyone have one?

I also took a quick shot of these super cute Sophee Kendra Scott earrings from Rocksbox. I paired it with my $15 House of Harlow sunglasses that I got at 75% off from Centruy 21. (I actually found a second pair at the Rack for a penny LOL).

If you haven't tried Rocksbox, it's a fun jewelry subscription box - you create a wishlist and they send you three pieces at a time. You try them and buy them (for 20% off retail) or just send them back with a pre-paid shipping label and they send you three more pieces to borrow :) If you use code SHOPPINGGALXOXO you get your first month free!

I had hoped to get my blog sale up today but that's not gonna happen (too much stuff!) Don't worry, it's coming and it's gonna be good...

Have a great weekend!
XOXO

Fashion Roadtrip! Tibi (Connecticut) Sample Sale Report

Today I picked up my partner in crime, V, and headed to Connecticut for the Tibi Sample sale. Last week when the sale was announced many a fashionista cried when they heard that Tibi would no longer be holding their sale in the City. Luckily one of the perks of suburbia is a car and a driveway (no circling for spots!) so I grabbed my keys and off I went on a fashion roadtrip.

Stamford is less than an hour from the City and there was zero traffic in both directions. The sale opened for the public from 4-6 today but we got there early (1:30) and walked right in. I'm guessing it was friends and family at the time - and it was nice and empty. As always we went right for the $25 damage boxes (they had 3) that were mostly filled with 4.Collective (their cheaper line) dresses.

This is what it looked like after we cleared it out LOL.

The boxes are the reason we drove there. Previous sales have had them - plus $25 sample shoes as well. I was thrilled to find tons of pretties to try on.

Unfortunately they didn't have $25 shoes at this sale so we decided to pass on shoes completely. It was $50 for flats, $75 for heels and $100 for boots - box or no box.

Pricing for the rest of the samples was $50-150. They told me that sample size was a 4/6. See complete price list below.

Everything else (Resort/Pre-Spring/Spring) was organized by size and 50-70% off retail.

The good thing about leaving NYC (and having a large space) is that you can actually have a dressing room.

Here is V waiting for me as I take pics. Note that they had these handy "Still Shopping" bags all over the space :)

Now for my finds - all my dresses were 4.C which retail about $300 a pop. When they rang me up they tried to tell me they were $50 each but they were in boxes clearly marked $25 so they honored the lower price. The skirt is Tibi (and $25!) and has a small tear by the pocket seam but that's a quick fix. The skirt was marked a 4 but the other pieces were all samples (size 4/6). It's a good feeling to be sample size again :)

Overall I'd say it was worth the trip. Everyone was very helpful (they had attendants checking on you to see if you needed assistance throughout the space) and I'm pleased with my scores. If you have the time (or it's not too far) it's a good one. This was my first Tibi sale ever because when I was heavier I didn't want to go because I didn't think anything would fit. I do have to admit that a couple dresses are a little snug but they all zip up...and that's good enough for me :)

Tibi Sample Sale 5/27-5/28 (already closed for today)
375 Fairfield Ave, Stamford, CT 06902
W 9-6, Th 9-5

Shopping madness at the outlets! Nordstrom Rack, Saks & Bloomies weekend deals :)

With sundown coming and a Jewish Holiday this weekend I'll be out of commission so I'll have to do this post quickly. (Don't worry, I made up for it by doing some power shopping this morning.)

Waiting for the doors to open...

Stop #1 for me is always Nordstrom Rack. Clear the Rack started this morning and runs thru Monday. They are offering an extra 25% off red ticket clearance. You can also get a price adjustment for the extra 25% off items purchased within the past 7 days with the receipt and tags attached. Unfortunately there was nothing to buy (not has their been so I had nothing to adjust) so I headed over to SaksOff5th to see what I could find.

I dug around a little more and found 9 more dresses and gowns - for a total of $134.91. Saved $4,350 - that's 97% off!

My fave $14.99 find of the day was this $495 lace dress. I'm partial to Badgley Mischka because I scored my $10,000+ beaded wedding gown from their sample sale for next to nothing :)

Even though I never find anything at the Blooingdale's outlet I decided to take a peek and look what I found...

Every ladies red tagged item was just $19.99! I scooped up tons of Alice & Olivia, Vince, Joie, Rebecca Taylor, and more! Looks like I may be having a blog sale after all. After putting my first haul in the car I went back and filled another bag LOL. In my first transaction I saved over $7000!

This promotion started this morning and runs thru Monday. I'm not sure if this promo is at every location (the cashier didn't know) so your local stores first.

Good luck and happy shopping!!!

XOXO
