Weekly sale roundup :)

While the Tamara Mellon sale from the other day eclipses it all, there are still a few things of note from the last couple weeks worth mentioning...

Right before I went to Tamara Mellon I went downtown to a Dove Friendship Suite pop-up. I actually love Dove deodorant so I was happy to check out their new dry spray which they were promoting. As a couponer and bargainista there are very few brands I am loyal to, but I truly feel Dove is so much better than other brands. Keeps me dry all day and leaves very little residue on my clothing. I love their sticks (any variety) and I use it everywhere. It may be TMI but I use it on my thighs for my chub-rub and on my feet when I'm breaking in new shoes (no blisters!)

And the most exciting part - Dove partnered with Rocksbox and gifted me this spiked out necklace by Slate! At first I was like - do I have to send it back? If you're not familiar with Rocksbox, it's a subscription service (like Rent the Runway) where you borrow jewelry for a monthly fee. They assured me it was free and I graciously accepted :)

ETA: if you want to try Rocksbox use code shoppinggalxoxo for the next few weeks and get your first month free!

I actually had a choice from all of these but this is the one that popped for me.

I'm betting my nieces are feeling really stupid right now for not joining me...

In addition to the Rocksbox display, they also had a makeup station, photo booth and a mailing station where you could mail a friend a free deodorant. I sent one to my sister but I kinda regret not sending it to myself LOL.

I've been picking up more 90% off bits and pieces at Century 21 this week so it's really not too late to take a peek and get lucky. At this point your best bet is to head to the downtown location but you may find a stray return floating around the other stores.

My most exciting C21 finds this week include my brother's $1500 Zegna leather and nylon moto-jacket that I scored for just $65 and super cute $589 Lanvin bow heels for $29. So cute.

Don't worry - my complete haul and extras (blog sale!) are coming :)

***************
Target has been pretty productive. I've been stalking this Magna mountain bike for my son for weeks. It was hanging out at 50% off and you know that's not good enough for me. Finally hit 70% off - got it for $29.98!

For the past couple years I've missed out on this jewelry armoire - finally scored one for 70% off! I took it home in black but I picked up a white one the following week. Still have not decided which one to keep...

I waited for 90% off Valentines clearance because I was too busy with 90% off at Century. I still managed to find a bunch of goodies.

Thanks to a tip on All Things Target I managed to find a shelf-full hiding in plain sight in the toy department. These Princess Sophia Play-doh sets rang up just $.69 each.

***************
The Rack has been pretty dead of late (some designer event, right?) but with this last round of markdowns I managed to find a bunch of penny stuff :)

Filled up my cart with these $58 Michael Kors espadrilles for my girls - guess what they'll be wearing for the next few years LOL.

I've been saving something really special for my next giveaway but I found so many of these bras that I actually has an impromptu giveaway on Instagram to my followers. Just sharing the wealth :)

Found these $460 Pedro Garcia satin pumps actually marked $0.01 - love when they take the guesswork out of the equation LOL.

And my favorite penny find was this $330 Rebecca Minkoff silver triangle Rex clutch that I'd noticed hanging around for a while. At this point I can spot them a mile away. Like I always say, just look for the old stuff.

Not a penny, these Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue perfume sets were marked down to just $12! Guess what everyone is getting for their birthday this year?

***************
This week I had to finally say goodbye to my Chanel cuff :( My friend's dad does the repairs for the Chanel NYC boutiques so I had him look at the cuff and he sent me to the downtown boutique thinking they would pay for the repair or replace it. Unfortunately they told me they would have to charge me $80 to repair it (only boutique purchases are guaranteed for a year) and it probably would never be the same. I took it back the Neiman Marcus where I purchased it and was refunded. I didn't want a refund - I just want a Chanel bracelet (for the 75% off that I paid) that won't break in two seconds. Sigh.

Goodbye old friend :(

On a happier note, if you can get to NYC, it's not too late to head over to Tamara Mellon - sale ends on Sunday! Check out 260 Sample Sale (or my previous blog post) for more info.

Have a great weekend!

Tamara Mellon 2015 NYC Sample Sale Report

I think we all knew that lightning wasn't going to strike twice. Last sale, which was Tamara's first ever, was spectacular. Somehow I didn't hear about it until the end of the first day, but even on day two I still managed to make out like a bandit. For this sale I got myself on their press list to make sure I would not miss out again. I arrived almost an hour early (and first on line LOL) and waited in the bitter cold to get my hands on some of Tamara's goodies :)

You can read my sale report from her last sale here

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Tamara Mellon, she is the former Chief Creative Officer and co-founder of Jimmy Choo and has since broken away to start her own eponymous line. As a diehard Choo girl I knew I couldn't miss this sale even if the prices went up. If you didn't listen to me when I told you to check out her online sale a week ago you may have made a mistake. I saw most of those shoes at this sale for more. Last sample sale shoes were $50/$55/$75 and this time they were $75/$100/$150. I saw several styles that I purchased last time for double and triple this time.

Pretty sure I told you to get those yellow Addiction pumps for $50 at her online sale. Just sayin...

I spy flats and sandals that I saw online for $35-50...

Bags also went up. Last time they were $50/$100 and this time they were $125/$200/$400. Those large "Speedate" bags (they had the grommet, leopard and solid black versions) are actually $400.

The larger bags seen here are $200.

All the clutches and small bags are $125.

However, this time I got to see the samples which were priced at $25 for shoes and just $10 for clothing!!! For sample clothing I saw mostly sizes 0-8 and the sample shoes were 37.5 and 39.5. They had very few sample shoes left when the doors opened and I'm pretty sure I overheard an employee say she took 7-8 pairs...

Some sample shoes.

Sample clothing. Lots of weird jumpsuits for $10.

More $10 samples...

Got these $25 sample booties for my nieces :)

Picked these samples up for me - although I left the white ones because the patent leather was too dirty.

Clothing pricing stayed the same as last sale - $50 for everything but leather and coats which were $100 (although last time I believe the furs were $250). I actually recognized a lot of the clothing from the last sale. The clothing was really the way to go but unfortunately most of it went and the organizers said that they would not be restocking clothing, just shoes (which they had an abundance of - plus plenty of backstock). I did see a lot of movement at the bag table despite the price increase but I do wonder how the increase will affect shoe sales. I saw people buying a pair or two but it wasn't the mad rush like last time when people were buying 10 pairs without blinking an eye.

Complete price list

Blazers and coats - check out the $100 fur bomber jackets on the right. Still a few left...

Lots of pants :)

Dresses.

Tops.

More dresses...
Rack of $100 leather pieces.

My favorite find of the night was this $395 grommet belt that I admired online and actually hoped to find. There was only one and they gave it to me for $15!!!!!!! Almost makes up for the $5000 fur coat that I really wanted and missed out on AGAIN. They had only one this time and somehow the lady who came in behind me snapped it up first. Drat.

ETA this mod shot - I am so obsessed with this belt.

I'll be sure to model the rest of my finds in upcoming weeks. In the end I took the red sample shoes, a sample yellow blazer, a sample yellow dress, the belt and a leather dress. I may have taken a bag too :)

My haul!

Bottom line - it's worth a look. If you're cheap like me head right for the sample area in the back by the dressing room then peruse the ready-to-wear and see if anything works for you.

I'm not sure if I'm going back this week so I won't be able to do any personal shopping for this sale. I did have a few advance requests from clients but I didn't get anything (for them) because the prices were more than I felt they should have been. In the future book me in advance so you don't miss out. The only extra I picked up this time were the cute sample booties for my nieces for $25.

Don't worry, I know I still owe you a report on all my Century 21 90% off finds but I knew you needed this post RIGHT NOW. It's coming...I promise!

Sale runs 2/26 thru 3/1 at 260 5th Ave. - but honestly I don't know what they are even going to have after the first day other than slightly overpriced shoes. Fingers crossed for markdowns and restocking!

Good luck and happy shopping :)
