Week in Review! More Rockstuds, $3 H&M Scores, Nordstrom Rack & Thrifted Finds :)

Looks like my dry spell is officially over. These are all actually from the last couple weeks but the Jewish holidays have been keeping me pretty busy.

So let's start with my brand new lipstick red Valentino Rockstuds. I would have been happy with just one pair but G-d has been good and delivered not one, not two, but three pairs of Rockstuds over the past few weeks. Crazy. I know I don't need all of them but I waited so long for a pair that I just can't seem to let any of them go. My 8 year old daughter fell in love and made me order a fake pair from China in her size. As soon as they come we'll take a mother daughter pic and I'll let you know if you need to buy your girls a pair too :)

A week ago I found a few pieces for my girls for $3 each at H&M but then again today they marked everything in the women's clearance to $7 or less. I found this cute denim vest and cropped blouse for myself for $3 each. Kicking myself for not checking in earlier in the day because you guys know the damage I typically do.

After a long break from thrifting I went last week and scored big time. For my daughter I picked up these almost new Lelli Kelly hightops for $3. Actually her whole look here was less than $10 head to toe - all thrifted. That Hard Tail skirt is hands down her favorite skirt right now.

I also found this Pucci bucket hat for $3. It didn't have a tag but the print and lining was a dead giveaway. These go for $100-200 easy.

In addition to a killer $10 80's dress that's currently at the tailor I picked up this vintage Bergdorf Goodman houndstooth blazer for $7. I even found the missing button on the floor at the store. My husband actually hates it so it's a good thing I dress to amuse myself. Love a huge 80's shoulder pad!

I also found this cute Les Copains dress for $7 (they tend to retail for around $500). I used to get tons of their stuff from Daffy's back in the day.

But my piece de resistance was this Salvatore Ferragamo suit for 30 bucks. It was originally $60 but I found it for half-price. These seriously go for several thousand dollars. I want to loose a little more weight before I tailor it. It looks so money.

The Rack has also been good to me of late. Lots of markdowns and Clear the Rack actually starts tomorrow. I finally have a ton of stuff to bring back for a price adjustment. There have been a few rounds of CTR that I had nothing to adjust because there was nothing to buy.

There were a few things I found before the 7 day adjustment period, but they were so cheap that it's OK. I wanted a signature jacket and I'm not sure this Vertigo peacoat is exactly what I was looking for but for $7.49 I'm sure I can put it to use. Love the drama of the oversized collar.

For my BIL I grabbed this $395 John Varvatos blazer for $29.98. for some stupid reason he didn't want it. (Hello, it fits him like a glove and it's probably nicer than everything he owns combined...) I'm holding on to it in case he reconsiders.

I also found a Hugo Boss suit for my husband for $99 (#amazing) and a ton of designer jeans for less than $20 a pair but they are all currently at the tailor.

And it's been a while since I've shared penny finds but I wanted to share my recent favorites:

Yes, these $685 Stuart Weitzman Tass black suede wedge boots were just a penny. I wish the calves were narrower but you heard the penny part, right?

I got a bunch of penny (boots &) sandals that day but I am so obsessed with these Vince Camuto Effel sandals. The season is pretty much over so I'll be saving them for next year.

Last but not least I picked up this jade green medium Chloe Marcie for about half price but I'll be having it price adjusted tomorrow. If anyone is interested email me or DM me on Instagram :)

Pretty good couple of weeks, right? I'm linking a few similar items below in case you NEED them and are OK spending a little more...

FYI, I still have a few pieces left in my blog sale. And don't forget to hit your local Nordstrom Racks for Clear the Rack tomorrow - you'll get 25% off all red ticket items this weekend!

Happy Shopping :)

Blog Sale!

And now for the long awaited blog sale! Sorry it took so long to get my act together but I kept getting hit with sale after sale that I've only just had a moment to breathe.

Rules are simple:

  • Exact US (no international, sorry) shipping is NOT included. Don't worry, I'm really good at stuffing flat rate boxes and envelopes and I'll cover the paypal fees. (Shipping for most items will be $6-15 and I do combine shipping for multiple purchases.  Local pickup is in Bergen County, NJ but I will meet you in NYC if we've met before.
  • Also, insurance & signature confirmation is required for purchases over $250.)
  • To purchase, post sold and your paypal address and zip code in the comments below.
  • First come, first serve, and all sales final so please ask all questions (measurements, pics, etc.) before you post sold.
  • You have 24 hours after I've invoiced you or it will go to the next in line.
Let's go :)

SOLD SHIPPED 1.  Stuart Weitzman 50/50 boots, size 9. These fit me but I don't like boots that go up so high. These were refurbs from the Rack that I never wore. They look pretty new other than some wrinkling in the leather - nothing serious that probably wouldn't happen the first couple times you wear it. Asking Retail $655, asking $225.

SOLD SHIPPED 2. Rebecca Minkoff MAC crossbody bag. I don't believe it's a MAC Daddy but it's larger than my other full size MAC. Black leather with gold hardware. Measures approx. 8" x 11.5" x 2.75". This is also a refurb from the Rack and other than a couple light marks on the gold feet, it really looks great. Retail, $295, asking $125.

SOLD SHIPPED 3. Rebecca Minkoff Julian leather backpack in blue. This is also a refurb from the Rack that's just sitting unused in my closet because I'm not a backpack girl (I keep trying LOL). Retail, $295, asking $125.

4. I really wanted this size 40 (US 8) Chloe dress to work but it's a little big :( Color is light khaki, 100% polyester. On the runway it was two-tone but this is a solid color. Sleeves are sheer but not totally see-through. See the model for fit - my picture looks wide for some reason. Retail $3,495, asking $195.

5. Lanvin open toe leather and cork wedges in size 40. Check out the geometric cuts on the heels. These fit me but I just can't do the height. Heels are 6 inches high, platform is 1.75 inches high and insole is approx. 10.5 inches long. It's missing the ankle straps (I think they totally work without them) and has a bunch of scratches, but with a good polish they shouldn't be too bad. Plus these retailed for $1,380 so you can suck it up for $65.

BOTH SOLD SHIPPED 6. I fell in love with this Custo Barcelona dress/tunic (I have 1 small and 1 medium available) but it's too tight in the hips. 100% silk body and the sleeves are 100% polyester. Love the colors and the beading is amazing! It has a belt but I think it looks cuter without it. Retailed for $375, asking just $30 each.

BOTH SOLD SHIPPED 7. Raoul light grey tailored crepe midi skirts - I have a 6 & 8 available. I can fit both but I have nothing to match them LOL. They had a bit of stretch and high slit in the back. Made of 96% viscose, 4% elastane; lining: 97% polyester, 3% spandex. Retail $260, asking $25 each.

SOLD SHIPPED 8. NWT green gloss Hunter rain boots, size US 8 - wish they were a 9. Retail $150, asking $60.

SOLD SHIPPED 9. NWT size small Splendid top - this one is mine but I have a second one for you :) Cute, easy fit top. Can probably fit a size 4-8, maybe a 10 due to the loose nature. 100% rayon. Retail $84, get it for $10.

SOLD SHIPPED 10. NWT Yumi black beaded dress size EUR 38, US 2/4. 100% polyester. Cute, easy dress. Retail $275, get it for $30.

SOLD SHIPPED 11. NWT Michael Kors size 4 dress (the fabric tag is starting to come off so the Michael Kors tag fell off but I have it). 96% virgin wool, 4% spandex (has stretch). Unlined and back zip closure. Color on tag says stone but it looks like a tan to me. Retail $2,175, asking just $100. Crazy, right? Wish it was a size larger.

SOLD SHIPPED 12. Sonia Rykiel size 40 (US 8) orange silk dress with tie-back. No tags (other than the store tag). I googled a mod shot and my color is more accurate. Zips in the back. Pretty, but I have so much... Retail $1430, asking $70.

SOLD SHIPPED 13. For some reason I forgot to take a pic of this silk floral watercolor Escada "Dolene" dress. It's new with tags and gorgeous. Unfortunately it's a size 34 (US 4) so it's too small for me (no stretch so I can't get it over my derriere), Retailed for a whopping $1,950, get mine for just $100. BTW they had it on Gilt not too long ago for $599.

That's all folks! I had a lot more (like the Balenciaga City I posted on Insta) but my clients swooped them up. Hope I have something that works for you :)

Just in case you missed mine you can shop a few similar pieces below:

Wearing It - My $2000+ Look for Less than 200 Bucks :)

I teased this look a couple weeks back on Instagram but I'm so excited to share these photos by Nathan Rose Photography from my nephew's Bar Mitzvah. My entire look head to toe cost a whopping $173.30, which is pretty good considering the total retail is $2,070. #neverpayretail

Picked up this Milly golden lurex flutter dress at the Rent the Runway warehouse sale ($31.80, retail $470) a couple months ago and wasn't sure how I was going to style it until I paired it with my Tamara Mellon Submission sandals ($55 sample sale, retail $995). Once I had the shoes the look started to evolve. I pulled out my AV Max leather cuffs ($10 each sample sale, retail $70 & $80), my favorite Argento Vivo hammered drop earrings ($25 Nordstrom Rack, retail $60) and my DVF Tonda clutch ($41.50 Rent the Runway sample sale, retail $395).

My lipstick is my MAC Miley Cyrus Viva Glam ($17) and my eye makeup is courtesy of the amazing folks at Korres USA who sent me a package of mascara and liners after I walked away empty handed at their sample sale. I have super sensitive eyes and their makeup is seriously the only stuff I can use.

Here are a couple that Ella (my 8 year old photographer) took that day of my accessories:

And this is my nephew who I dressed head to toe. Love his crooked smile. He's 13 and already as tall as me.

I started his look with his shoes. His only direction was his colors (blue and turquoise) - and he gave me the kippah (head covering) he had customized for his Bar Mitzvah. I immediately knew he needed blue suede shoes and he loved the idea. His party had a skater-boy theme so instead of a shoe we went with a pair of sneakers. Nearly his entire party look head to toe was from Nordstrom Rack (other than his socks from Marshalls).

He's at a tough age because he needs to shop in the both the boys and mens departments. The Nordstrom brand suit was just $75 (retail $250) and the shirt was $11.25 - both scored at Clear the Rack. I selected coordinating ties for him and his dad (yes, I also dressed my BIL head to toe too) in the mens department - his was $13 (retail $100). I did have to pay full price for his size 10 Nikes at the Rack but they were $60 which wasn't terrible. His colorful socks came in a 4-pack for only $3 at Marshalls (yellow sticker!) so he wore a different pair at each event all weekend.

I styled him for dinner on Friday night and Sabbath services as well - also for next to nothing. We thriftily recut a few hand-me down suits and with a few pieces from Century and the Rack he looked like a million bucks.

I'm linking some of my favorites (or similar pieces as some are sold out) so you can shop my party look. Obviously it's not gonna be as cheap as when I found them but that's why you hire me to be your stylist :)

So yeah, I do wear my amazing finds. I even repeat some of my favorites. As always, would love to hear what you think!
