These Are a Few of My Favorite Things...

When it rains, it pours. So far sample sale season is off to a great start, my mailbox has been full of blogger mail (yay for free stuff!) - and I found Chanel at the Rack. Life is good.

This weekend is Clear the Rack at Nordstrom and I nearly had a heart attack when I found these $750 Chanel flats (with the box!) for just $175 after the extra 30% off! For Chanel that's an unheard of discount. I bet I can dye them black too - but I think I'll keep them blue for now. I do love a pop of color on my feet. (Read how I dyed my Jimmy Choo bag here.)

EVA NYC just launched their hair products in Old Navy - they sent me an assortment to try as well as this flatiron. The slippers are another recent Rack find. They are by Steve Madden and were $20. Sometimes you gotta splurge. It's funny how $175 for Chanel is practically free but Steve Madden slippers for $20 are a splurge LOL.

At the last Clear the Rack I found these Smashbox lipglosses for just $1.50 each. Can't resist a cheap lippie!

On the Influenster front, my latest VoxBox is by Lancôme. It's everything you need for a complete eye look. Very excited by the purple pencil. Be sure to sign up to get your own free products to review here. They've been sending me boxes that retail for over $100 lately :)

I actually won this $54 Hourglass primer from Influenster. Sometimes they have contests for completing tasks.

Marsquest sent me these amazing mirrored navy sunglasses! You can nab a pair for 35% off till the end of the month with code LeHoarder35. I've been dying for a pair of mirrored sunnies too!

I won this Maggy London illusion top in an Insta giveaway (RV $79) and Mezzanotte sent me their Barolo bag (RV $195) as a holiday gift. The boots are from Macy's Backstage by Betsey Johnson (RV $99). Macy's sent me a giftcard to shop their new outlet store and I was so excited to find these for less than $50! Velvet and glitter? Yes please!!! I've worn them a couple times but so far the pics didn't turn out so I'll just have to keep wearing them until I get a good shot LOL.

And I'm always excited when my POPSUGAR Must Have Box shows up on my doorstep! In their November subscription box they included a lot of "chic entertaining essentials" like the AJ Goods nest wire bowl and Pehr chambray runner.

Ella already made off with the Kendra Scott Elaina rose gold bracelet and Meri Meri star party picks. Thank you POPSUGAR for sending me this #MustHaveBox to try. You can subscribe for just $39.95 - and you can get $5 off your first box with code SHOP5.

And before we get started with my amazing Rebecca Minkoff sample sale finds, I wanted to share this MAC that I thrifted for just $5!!! I'm gonna give it to my sis D for Chanukah :)

That would have been amazing had I not found all of these bags for just $10 on the sample table at the sale!!! I actually gave my sister one of the tassel bags (hers was gray) too - I love gifting cheap Minkoff bags.

And now for my amazing shoe finds! Having giant feet pays off. These runway boots and fur heels were just $40!

I found this fur and wool coat on the sample rack for $50. The back is real fur but the sleeves are faux. It's missing buttons (easy fix) but at least it's finished unlike my $20 coat find last year.

This beach towel was a free gift with purchase. It's a cute oversized towel that was made for Michelle Obama's Drink Up campaign.

I also scored this $145 Cleo glitter wallet on a chain for just $10! I also have a few other odds and ends that I scored on the cheap that you'll be seeing in upcoming outfits. And I also grabbed an extra wallet for a giveaway I'll be having on my Instagram soon! Stay tuned!

Doesn't it looks super cute with my new $695 Bisoux Charlotte Olympia lips flats?! Just nabbed them for $100 at the sample sale. I really almost skipped the sale because they cut me from VIP but when I saw a tweet about cheap flats I ran.

Marc Jacobs was amazing this year! They are discontinuing their Marc by Marc Jacobs line so it was a blowout. I scored this leather collection backpack for $80 - a strap was broken but it cost less than $10 to fix. The scarf, gloves and headband were just $20 each and the $698 Bowery boots were $40!

I have so much more to share but it's gonna have to be for another day! I'm linking up some of these pieces for you to shop. So often I scored inexpensive one of a kind or runway pieces at these sales that make it worth the hours in line and insane crowds. If you have never been to a NYC sample sale - put it on your bucket list.

As for my picks for upcoming sales, I have a few! Nothing I need to hit this week but you can see all of the sales on Racked NY here. As always, be sure you're watching my Insta stories as sales/deals always pop up!

My favorite jewelry sale is back - everything is just $5-25! Lots of great gifts! Take a peek at a previous sale here.

Not sure what I'm gonna buy at Alice + Olivia because I can't fit sample size right now but it's one sale I just can't skip. I'm willing to buy for future skinny me. Some sales have been better than others, you can read about my past scores here, here, and here. Get there early and be prepared to fight for this one.

On the Fringe.

If you've seen me about town lately, I'm sure you've spotted me in this super cute green jacket. It's the perfect lightweight jacket, and I decided to take it from day to night for a family birthday dinner. Tobi recently sent me a few pieces to try (thanks guys!) and in addition to this jacket, they also sent me this fringed dress and midi dress (already seen here).

You know I'm a sucker for fringe so I just couldn't resist this dress. I always planned on layering with it but the entire back is open (sides too LOL) and it's on the sheer side - so the jacket stayed on my shoulders all night.

It was getting dark and raining so this was the best I could get of my #OOTD. Plus my photographer was my 10 year old niece. It helps to have a large family with lots of kids willing to play photographer :)

So this week was a little crazy. Sample sale season in effect and my feet are killing me. Note to self - wear sneakers next week. On Thursday I popped into Teri Jon to preview their sample sale that is taking place this Sunday & Monday, 11/20-21. (I posted details in my last post, here.) I was there for about 20 minutes when I heard that Charlotte Olympia had $100 kitty flats - so I literally ran in my Rockstuds over 10 blocks. Lucky I got there when I did because within minutes the line wrapped around the hotel floor. After scoring a single pair of cute flats I went downtown and crashed the private Balenciaga sample sale but walked out empty handed. At this point my next Bal has to be a blue/purple/green & have oversized hardware but they didn't have my combo :( Plus bags were still $350-450 which is a great price but only if it's exactly what I want. You can take a peek on my Facebook page at what I saw/got that day :)

On Friday I left my house at the crack of dawn to hit the Eddie Borgo sample sale at 8am. Got there at 7:30 and there was already 3 people ahead of me. Last round they had a huge box of $5 damages. This time nada. I picked up a couple pieces (prices went up...) and hung around for a couple hours before running over to Alexander Wang where I heard they had $150 bucket bags. I snapped up a couple bags at Wang and then started walking back to Borgo when I saw a text from a friend that they had put out a few damages right as I left. Great. Then I get a text from a friend at Wang that he had a couple mini Rockie bags for me so I ran back there. So the lesson is - even if you expect to hit a sale or two, you never know what will pop up or how far you'll have to run. Always wear comfortable flats!!

As for this coming week, stay home and shop online. That's where the deals are. Most places have rolled out their Black Friday deals early so keep an eye out on Slickdeals. If I see anything amazing, I'll add it to my Insta stories. I've said it before and I'll say it again. If you're not following me on Insta and watching my stories, you are missing my behind the scenes live shopping adventures. I do from time to time add my stories (like I did this week) to my Shoppinggalnyc Facebook page so they don't disappear - so be sure you're following me there too.

Happy shopping!

White after Labor Day.

The weather this fall has been insanely confusing. I got this beautiful embroidered midi dress pretty late in the season and it sat in my closet for a couple weeks...until the prefect 70 degree day came out of nowhere. I dreamed of shooting it on the beach but sometimes you gotta improvise.

To give it a more seasonal feel I added a denim jacket, which is always good for a pop of color, and some neutral accessories. And you can't go wrong with a bright pink lipstick.

I put together this outfit for less than $50! It helps when you score your boots for a penny, and your denim jacket is thrifted :)

In full disclosure, I was feeling heavy and sized up with this dress. I made the mistake of ordering a large - and a medium or even a small would have been fine because it has such an oversized fit. It's a little sheer but if you wear nude underwear you can probably skip a slip. Zaful has tons of gorgeous (and very inexpensive) embroidered dresses and right now they are having a huge sale. I suggest you take a peek ASAP!

From head to toe:
  • Sunglasses: Chloe Suzanna, Nordstrom Rack, $22, RV $350
  • Jacket: Marc Jacobs, thrifted, $13
  • Dress: Zaful, gifted, on sale now for $23.63! (thanks guys!)
  • Bag: Street Level fringe bag, $7.50, RV $50
  • Boots: Tesori, Nordstrom Rack, $0.01

Ella decided she was on strike so it was Ava who shot several of these - until Ella decided she could do it better and took the camera away from her. Artists can be temperamental, especially when they are 7 and 9 years old LOL.

Speaking of the girls, Ella has a personal appearance today (11/13/16) at the Justice store in the Willowbrook Mall in Wayne, NJ. It's from 6-8pm tonight and we'd love if you could join us. It's a Friends and Family event - please come and shop or just say hello :) Ella was also regrammed by Justice this week and her pic got over 6,000 likes! So exciting! Ella also asked if you could follow her Insta adventures on her own account, @missellasophie.

Today is also the last day of the Nina Kids flash sale where you can take 25% off all kids shoes (even clearance!) on their website with the code FALLKIDS. The girls put together a video of their top pics of the Nina Kids Spring/Summer 2017 collection on my YouTube. I'm not sure I'm ready to let them have their own channel yet.

As for my shopping picks of the week, there are a bunch of great sales! You can see all this week's sales on Lazar Shopping - I love how they organize their sales by day/week.

Tomorrow I'll be in the City taking Ava to her eye doctor so I figure we'll pop in to the Kids Market Building sale. Last round I got a bunch of super cute accessories on the cheap.

Kids Market Building
November 14-18, M 10-6, T-F 10-5
34 West 33 Street, Floors 3,5,9 & 12
CASH ONLY

Charlotte Olympia is this week but I'm skipping out of protest. Last round I was invited to VIP and everything was on the pricy side. This year they rejected me for VIP (thanks guys - more money to save for Sophia Webster!) so I'm not gonna bother with the notoriously long lines and poor selection and pricing.

Charlotte Olympia
November 17, 11-7
Roosevelt Hotel, 45 East 45 Street

If you're in the market for a fancy dress check out Teri Jon who had samples for just $70 last round! Check out the one of a kind piece I scored at the last sale.

Hope to see you tonight at Justice! Also - be sure to follow my Insta stories (I'm just not a Snap girl...) where I share all the behind the scenes of my shopping adventures! It's the only way to be sure you don't miss a deal!

Street Style and Sample Sale Scores.

I love fall because I get to pull out my coats. When I spotted this one on makemechic I knew I needed it! Bombers are all the rage right now but I wanted one with a twist. I'm wearing a size medium and it has a nice oversized fit. Love the longer shape of this one - plus it's a steal at just $36!

Unlike a lot of bloggers, I share outfits I actually wear, as I wear them. Lately I've been on a sneakers kick because it's just not practical to run around the City in heels anymore. That being said I wore this dress and coat to Synagogue over the holidays with my black Rockstuds and a sequin cap - my heels really only get broken out for special occasions these days.

This Tobi midi dress is a great layering piece. It's a little on the thin side very so comfortable and on sale for just $23 right now! I'm wearing a size medium. Tobi sent me a few pieces to try that I can't wait to share more :)

From head to toe:
  • Sunglasses: RayBan, Century21, $8, RV $145 - back when they had 90% off!
  • Bag: Rebecca Minkoff, Sample Sale, $10!!, RV about $200
  • Scarf: Ralph Lauren, my brother left this behind to be thrown out when he moved out of my parent's house so I snapped it up. I think it's cashmere :)
  • Jacket: Make Me Chic, RV $36, gifted (thanks guys!)
  • Dress: Tobi, RV $23, gifted (thanks guys!)
  • Bracelets: Rebecca Minkoff, sample sale, $10 each, RV $78 each
  • Gloves: Carolina Amato, sample sale, $15
  • Socks: Forever 21, $0.49 - I grabbed a few from the sale bin but I wish I grabbed more!
  • Sneakers: Puma, Burlington Coat Factory, $20, RV $75

Pictures are by the adorable Belle of @littlefashionstylist. Thanks girl!

There are tons of sample sales going on this week including the Manolo Blahnik sale on Tuesday but I think I'm gonna skip because I went crazy at Marc Jacobs and Rebecca Minkoff over the last couple weeks. Plus nothing looks like it's gonna be super cheap. I always document my behind the scenes at a sale in my Insta stories so make sure you're following along for my latest updates!
