Blog sale!

People keep asking me what I do with my finds so let me remind you why I named my blog LeHoarder...um, I'm a hoarder. I tend to keep my best finds for myself and my paying clients.

As a child I didn't have much so I tend to overcompensate now as an adult. Good thing I know how to do it on the cheap. I do like to think of myself as a relatively sane hoarder - with most of my collections neatly organized in bins and closets in my attic and basement. Sometimes things do get a little out of control but no more than any other household with three kids sans nanny/housekeeper. I grew up without a maid so even today it's hard for me to relinquish control when I know I can do a better job cleaning and organizing.

But I digress, most of my penny finds are given as gifts to family and friends. On occasion I do put a few things on eBay but that's really only to support my designer habit. I rarely mention it because for some reason people expect me to sell them my finds as cost, not factoring in my time and most importantly - this is how I contribute to my family's expenses. Many don't realize how modestly I live because I'll walk out of the house wearing a $2000+ outfit - not everyone knows that it cost me maybe 50 bucks head to toe :) I have a family of five living on a professor's salary in a metropolitan area...you do the math.

So here are the goods! I think my pricing is pretty fair considering every time I sold my blog sale extras on eBay they usually got snapped up for 2-3x the price I listed here. Feel free to ask questions as needed. Prices are cheaper for local pickup. And FYI - nothing here was a penny LOL.

Tory Burch refurb black patent leather flats, size 7 - $95 US shipped.  I think due to the elastic backs these run on the small side and may not work for a wider foot.

JS Boutique size 6 NWT black beaded jersey gown, retail $180 - just $45 US shipped. One of the beads on the belt is a little loose and several beads on the shoulders are loose/missing - nothing too serious and can easily be stitched up.

Loose bead.

A few loose/missing beads.

SOLD NWT Adrianna Papell white sequin lace gown size 2, retail $298 - just $75 US shipped.  There are a few loose/missing beads, nothing serious. The sequins give it a richer ivory hue but the color is technically white.

You can better see the details on the blue version (I only have the black) -

Adrianna Papell Long beaded gown, size 6, retail $368 - $90 US shipped. Decadent beading enhances the '20s vibe of this gorgeous V-neck gown that hugs the figure before flaring into a graceful floor-grazing skirt. Approx. 62" length. Back zip closure. Fully lined. 100% polyester. Spot clean. Several sequins/beads are loose/fell off but it comes with a small bag of sequins/beads so you can easily resew them. Dress color is a little darker than the stock pic IRL (like a nude peach). Stunning.

The is the only spot on the back of the dress with missing beads - the rest were on the front.

SOLD NWT Halston Hertiage size Medium (US 6/8) dress, retail $295 - just $55 US shipped. An alluring hue washes over this v-neck halter dress, and a tucked and twisted knot detail at the center front waist creates a strikingly feminine look. Concealed zipper at left side seam. Fitted silhouette. 94% Polyester, 6% Spandex; 91% Nylon, 9% Spandex. Dry Clean Only. Color is Tangerine.

SOLD

NWT Current/Elliott The Prep School shirt size 2 (US size 6/8), retail $248 - $45 US shipped.

PENDING NWT Mcginn Laura Frayed Edge knit dress size large (US 12-14 but would probably work better for an 8/10), retail $260 - $50 US shipped. Not a short as in the stock picture - more above the knee than mid thigh LOL. Very Chanel - I would keep it but I don't do well with chunkier knits over my behind. Sparks of metallic blue highlight a nubby knit dress textured with soft fraying that defines the flirty silhouette. Button-patch pockets. Approx. length from shoulder to hem: 39". Slip lining. Polyester/acrylic/wool/nylon; dry clean.

Post Holiday sales :)

I keep running into friends and followers when I shop and I'm going to tell you what I keep telling them. Just wait. The second Christmas is over the stores start slashing their prices. If you can wait, trust me, it's worth it.

Friday morning I'll be popping into the Rack for 'Clear the Rack' to get a 25% off price adjustment on all the clearance goodies I've picked up this week. I've been hoping for a magical designer piece to come my way but so far no luck. Fingers crossed as Clear the Rack goes on thru the 4th!

I did get lucky in the shoe department this week  - they had just put out some kids shoes that were transferred in from Nordstrom and they were all marked a penny LOL.

100% savings!

When I went back the next day I took another peek and actually found a pair that would fit one of my kids :)

Also on my sale radar is Century 21 - I hear some things have already dropped to 50% off but y'all know that's just not good enough for me. I'm holding out for 75-90% off. I'll be sure to give you guys the heads up when that happens. H&M typically starts giving away their stuff as well - this sale is when I buy tons for $1-5! Yellow stickers will also be appearing shortly at TJ/Maxx and Marshalls. And I'll be Target hunting for sure over the next few days - when the holiday stuff goes to 70-90% off I fill my cart LOL.

I've been avoiding retail like the plague (crazy throngs of shoppers...) so I've been spending lots of time thrifting. I think I've been getting pickier so not as much comes home but what I do get is pretty special.

I've had Karen Millen on the brain since a client told me she was a fan. Last time I passed up a bandage dress for hers for $30 because I was being cheap. Sometimes my thrift stores totally overprice things so I have to take a step back and think - what would I pay for this at TJ Maxx or the Rack? Still kicking myself for that...so when I saw this dress marked 50% off for $12.50 I grabbed it. I figure I'll wear it a bit and see if it's me (I prefer my dresses black LOL) and then I can pass it along or sell it.

I would have LOVED to have found Loeffler Randall boots but for now these $525 Ynez sandals will do. Got 'em for just $15!

This Narciso Rodriguez was just $20 so I grabbed it even though it was way too big. I still can't locate the collection but it looks like some of his 90s pieces. I've since taken it to a tailor and it's much better now but still not as tight as I'd like. I'm going to wait before I have it redone.

Ella's hair was still done from my brother's wedding that I planned in a week when I heard he was going to elope (that's a whole other blog post...) so I made her model my $20 fur collar. I believe it's rabbit fur but I'm not sure. It's a very 70's cut and it has hooks so I know it came off a coat - I spent an hour looking for it when I found the collar but I just couldn't find it :( I have a feeling it was from an awesome camel coat. Ugh.

Who else is getting excited for New Years? I just thrifted the cutest vintage Oleg Cassini 80's sequin dress for 10 bucks. I'm not going to show it to you just yet - I'm holding it for a New Years party or my next photoshoot.

And last but not least, congrats to @anabellaforcoups on winning my Insta giveaway for a pair of my penny Burberry baby shoes! LMK which pair you want :)

Happy 101!!! It's giveaway time :)

I recently picked up these adorable Burberry baby shoes for a penny each. They retailed for $150 a pair! Tonight is the first night of Chanukah, so in the spirit of the season (and celebrating my 101st blog post) I'll be giving away a pair on Instagram!

To enter all you have to do is:

1. Like my Instagram account @LeHoarder
2. Like the picture below on Instagram
3. Tag a friend

If you repost the image with the hashtag #LHWinBurberryBaby and tag @LeHoarder you'll get an additional entry!

Giveaway ends December 24th (at 12 PM EST) which is the last day of Chanukah and Christmas eve - perfect day, right?

I have baby sizes 15, 17 and 19 available - winner will select one pair of their choosing. Size 15 = newborn or size 0, 17=1.5/2 and 19=3.5/4. All shoes are a little dirty from the price stickers & being on the shelf without a box. Seriously, why does the Rack do that? For a penny I didn't care and for free you shouldn't either :)

Here are some closeups of each size to give you a better idea of the imperfections. They may be able to be cleaned - I know I would try if I was keeping them LOL.

These are the size 15 shoes:

Giveaway is only open to US addresses only. Your Instagram must be public for me to see your entry. If you don't have a baby save them for your future babies or give 'em as a gift :) Good luck!
