Kmart fashion, Tracy Reese sample sale report & Rebecca Taylor update :)

Yes, I said Kmart fashion. I went into the City bright and early and got in a little too early for the Tracy Reese sample sale that opened at 10 am. I headed over to Macys and it seems that they don't open till 9:30 these days. Pretty sure they used to open at 8. It was chillier than I expected so I headed to Kmart to warm up.

Don't get too excited, you don't have to take a special trip to Kmart or anything but if you happen to pass one, check out the Adam Levine collection. Right now it's all on sale for $15. I spotted some cute easy pieces that could be fun additions to your Summer wardrobe. I was especially impressed that they had some modest pieces too.

I like to get to my sample sales early and be first in line. I got there at 9 (they opened at 10) and there were crickets. I later found out that they had friends and family yesterday so there was no reason to get there early. It was already pretty picked over and my real competition was yesterday. Ugh.

As soon as I walked in I went right for the $25 box. There wasn't much left but I did pull out a few dresses to try on. These were my keepers -

This silk peasant dress retailed for $365 :)

I couldn't find a stock pic of this silk print dress anywhere.

I also found a cute black strapless dress in the box that fit perfectly, but they told me it was a $65 sample. Boo. I did try on a few samples (mostly size 4 but I did spot some 2s and 8s.) but nothing was quite right. Here are some of my favorite pieces-

I was actually hoping for dress with sleeves but everything I liked was sleeveless or had fit issues. Lots of beautiful, colorful girly dresses but nothing I needed for $65. All samples were $50 (for Plenty) or $65 (for Tracy Reese). Your best bets are the sample dresses as the tops or bottoms were also $50/$65 which wasn't as worth it IMO. Stock dresses were $150 but I didn't really look because there were so many gorgeous samples to choose from.

Here are some sample pics from around the sale -

The only stock dress that really made an impression on me was this white lace maxi dress - but it was too boxy for my figure.

It's definitely worth a look - plus they said they were restocking for tomorrow. No more $25 dresses so I don't need to go back. All I can say is someone please get me on that VIP list for next sale!

After Tracy Reese I wandered around with my niece (who scored the cutest sweater at Tracy) and she graciously shot a few pics of my OOTD.

Details:

  • Dress - Rebecca Taylor, sample sale, $50
  • Sunglasses - Lumete, Nordstrom Rack (unsure but they had to be cheap LOL)
  • Bag - 3.1 Phillip Lim mini Pashli messenger, sample sale $200
  • Sandals - Franco Sarto, Nordstrom Rack, $.01
  • Watch - Nixon, Nordstrom Rack, around $30 I think
  • Earrings, Kendra Scott from Rocksbox - get your first month of Rocksbox free with code SHOPPINGGALXOXO :)

My niece ditched me to finish her homework so I popped in to Rebecca Taylor to see what was new.

I saw a few more accessories than the 5 belts I spotted at VIP. I also took a few shoe pics because mine were blurry the other day. These aren't much better LOL. They also clearly restocked samples as they had a rack of skirts that were not there the other day.

After RT, I walked down to the Rack and stuck out again. Is it just me or have the Racks been empty lately? Nothing to buy. Good thing samples sales have been good to me :)

I know, I still owe you a blog sale - hopefully I'll get back my repaired computer tomorrow so I can have it up this weekend.

XOXO
