Lionette NY & Day 2 of DVF - Sample Sale Reports :)

Yesterday I headed into the City to check out the Lionette NY sample sale. I had missed the VIP for DVF the day before (it opened just as my kids were getting on their school bus and DH was still in California) so I decided to check that sale out as well. My first stop was Lionette - where I always find a special piece or two. Lionette is not one of my cheaper jewelry sales (like Eddie Borgo or A.V. Max - which is coming up again!) but they always have $20/$50/$100 boxes worth checking out.

When you walk in you're greeted by a beautiful display wall where everything is 40% off retail. If you're a super-fan that's already an amazing deal. Personally, I always head to the right, where you'll find the discount boxes :)

In the $20 bowl I saw a few Nadine rings, basic neck chains and other odds and ends. Most of these pieces retailed for about $100.

The $50 box mostly had ornate hair pieces (pretty much same as last time) which I passed on again.

The $100 box is full of temptations. Lots of necklaces, bracelets, and earrings. I always peek in and get in trouble LOL.

Here are my picks that I shared on Insta. The bracelet, middle earrings and necklace were $100, the earrings on the left (the Eiffel) were $50, the rings were all $20, as were the small necklaces towards the top. Because I didn't want to spend almost $500, I edited down to the Gizele necklace on the right (RV $420), the double Ashley ring (RV $135), and the Kip ring in white (RV $135). I also grabbed one of the very pretty white tiny donut necklaces for a friend - I was told they were made specially for the sale but would retail for about $100).

Now a look at the wall. I always admire their bracelets. If any one the larger ones ever turn up in the discount box I'll be grabbing one.

I adore their ear jackets - too bad I lost one of mine. They're just so comfortable that I forgot I was wearing them and neglected to check my ears while I was dancing...

I chatted with Vanessa Lee of Lionette and she said the major trend in jewelry right now is chokers. I haven't worn any since the 90s so I tried on a couple but they just don't suit me anymore. I'm linking up a few pieces I saw so you can get an idea of retail pricing.

Today is the last day of the sale. If you stop by tell them I sent you :)

After Lionette, I walked down to check out the DVF sale. After hearing everyone complain about prices and selection, I wanted to see if there was anything worth buying. During the VIP there was an uproar because they misprinted the list and increased wrap dresses from $100 to $125 (as you can see here from the original price list). I heard they didn't get many samples, (mostly sweaters) but I didn't see a single one left.

I walked through the dresses, all $100-$150, and I saw lots of the dresses that I've seen in the Rack for less.

I thought this suede wrap dress was worth the splurge at $250. So 70s!

Leather skirt, also $250.

Fur/shearling coat for $250.

There were some beautiful swim cover-ups mixed in with the gowns - all $150. Personally, I thought all the unlined cover-ups should have been priced less.

This $150 beaded one really jumped out at me - at least this one had a slip.

I did spot this vest thing - it was marked a scarf on the ticket so I got it for $40. I'm thinking I got caught up in the excitement and probably didn't need it LOL.

Sweaters were all $50 - this one caught my eye.

They had bins of accessories to dig thru for $5-40.

They had run out of swim bottoms and only had tops left LOL. It seemed steep for $40 a piece anyway.

Scarves were $40 which wasn't too bad.

The best deal of all were these fur scarves for just $40! They retailed for $328 and I saw black and tan. I grabbed the tan :)

Taking pics was challenging because it was a madhouse. Shoes for $40 was also a pretty good deal. I didn't buy any because they're cute but nothing amazing. I have better.

Bags were $75-100. My favorite was that red fringed number I posted up top. These $75 clutches came in a rainbow of colors.

All jewelry was $30.

I'm linking a few pieces I spotted...

Sale is on thru Sunday - I'd check in for discounts on the weekend :)

Lots going on this weekend! My niece is having her Bat Mitzvah party and I still don't know what I'm wearing. I'm headed back to the City to hunt for my dress! Wish me luck :)

  1. Love the scarf/ shawl/ vest! $40 is not bad. I can see it over a simple black dress or with jeans and a tank!
