Simply Venom

One of the secrets of aging is being ahead of the game. When a much younger 30-year-old acquaintance told me she does Botox regularly I was shocked. While I'm sure it could help, I'm not quite ready to take that step - nor do I think I'm there yet. Recently I've been adding more anti-aging beauty products to my regimen. Not so much to turn back time, but to retain status quo. When Simply Venom reached out me to try their Day and Night Creams I jumped at the chance. What's so special about Simply Venom is that it's a safe, non-invasive alternative to Botox - and can even be used while pregnant!

To start, no, there isn't any snake venom in Simply Venom. Similar to a snake bite, the powerful ingredients relax the muscles. Medical grade injectables work the same way by unclenching your muscles that hold wrinkles in place. Simply Venom was developed by two anesthesiologists, Dr. Monica Lilore and Dr. Milija Milic. The doctors spent two-and-a-half years developing SYNOX-MD, a proprietary complex of active peptides and a purified yeast ferment delivery system to enhance penetration. This system helps tighten skin and build collagen - and safely mimics the effect of a snake bite or injectables in a topical application.

The Simply Venom Day Cream and the Simply Venom Night Cream, retail for $59 and $69, respectively. It's 100% paraben free, gluten free, dye free and fragrance free. And unlike many other anti-aging skincare brands, they fully disclose the listing of clinically recommended percentages of their active ingredients. You can read more about their ingredients and benefits here on the Simply Venom website.

This week I turned 43. I've never really been afraid of aging because I've always looked younger than my age. When people ask me my secret I tell them it could be because I don't drink, I've never done any kind of drugs, I try to stay out of the sun and wear sunscreen, and I've taken care of my skin since I was a teenager. But truthfully I'm just lucky. So much of aging is genetics. When I was in high school, if my then 40-ish dad put on a baseball cap, people thought he was my boyfriend. When I was in my 20s my mom picked me up from a doctor's appointment and the nurse told me my sister was waiting for me. Don't get me wrong, it was hard being a teenager who could pass for under 12 - though it saved my parents a ton of money on admissions. Even when I was 30 (and super pregnant!) a clerk at a bodega near my apartment refused to sell me a lottery ticket because he didn't think I was 18. But once I hit my late thirties I finally started to appreciate my parent's gift to me.

I've been using the Simply Venom duo for several weeks now and I see a noticeable improvement in the appearance of my skin. I love how light and non greasy they apply, and my skin looks visibly plumped and brightened. I apply 2 pumps a day of the day cream to my face, neck and chest in the mornings and 2 pumps at night of the night cream after washing my skin.

Don't get me wrong, when I look closely I can see shadows where they don't belong, there is a single line across my forehead that drives me nuts, and my skin is so much drier than it was than just 5 years ago. While there's no magic pill or fountain of youth, there are steps you can take to fight the sands of time. You're never too old or two young to start taking care of your skin. I love that Simply Venom's philosophy is all about #agegoals and always looking your best.

Have any of you tried Simply Venom? I'd love to hear your feedback - and how long you've been using it. What were your results?

Thank you to Simply Venom for kindly sponsoring this post. All opinions are 100% honest & completely my own.

XO
Michelle

  4. You do look extremely youthful and always gorgeous and I would never guess your age! I say the same things to people about drinking, drugs and staying out of the sun but I agree with you that it's kind of just luck. I do think I need to do something, as far as skin care or anti aging but I don't know really what. This Venom definitely sounds like a good investment! Thank you so much and Happy Birthday!!

  7. I have to hand it to them, they truly picked a name that implies it works well! Simply Venom sounds intense and that's a good thing for skin care! I love that it's more on the natural end! I'm such a skin care fanatic so this post was so spot on for me! You have beautiful skin and I would have assumed you are in your early thirties! It has a lot to do with your routine and your lifestyle but genetics plays a HUGE role too! I thought it was so funny when you talked about your parents saving on admission. My step-father is Italian and my step sister ALWAYS got in everywhere for free even though she was like 16-17! It brought back some funny memories hearing you say that! Oh and I've never tried Simply Venom before but i definitely want to now!

  8. These Simply Venom products sound like a perfect treatment for the aging skin. I have to confess, I do Botox too, but it doesn't mean that I don't use any of the skincare products. Oh believe me, I do. So I was totally intrigued and now I need to try these items you showed us.

  9. What a cute post and I couldn't agree more! Can't believe you are 43! You are so lucky to have genetics on your side but also I'm sure that taking care of your skin from such a young age helps as well.
I've heard great things about Simply Venom and I'm going to get it for my mom :)
    I think she'd love it!

  10. You know me- always a fan of learning about great new skincare brands! This line sounds amazing. Basically botox in a bottle! I'm also really impressed with how the brand releases the recommended percentages of the active ingredients- really speaks to the brand's faith behind their products. It's never too late to start the anti-aging care so I'd love to give this brand a go!

  11. GIRL you look so young. I'm so bad about this anti-aging stuff. I figure well if I stay out of the sun I'm good right? Haha. BUT I love that this stuff is paraben free and sounds like a great product for my skin. I avoid stuff with fragrances so that's also a plus. I don't think I can hop on the botox train. Not now at least. Maybe ever. Thanks for sharing

  13. I completely agree that it is never too early to start using anti-aging products. Though Botox is probably too early at 30, I can see myself using these products for preventative reasons. You look so young and you have great skin!! So it must be much easier for you to maintain it.
